Seasonal Immersive | Day Retreat
Join Phoebe and Donna for a local day retreat with seasonally curated yoga, meditation, nidra, sound and food. Spend a full day taking stock on our long hot West Australian summer, and begin the process of redirecting energy as the season changes.
March initiates the transition into Autumn, however more locally it falls within the Noongar season of Bunuru, the second summer. A time for managing energy carefully in the heat, enjoying the clarity of sky country - which ultimately means while the weather is warmer, we can be out enjoying the time for learning. It is a season ripe for harvesting and simplifying - gathering the wisdom from our experiences of the communal, festive and social time of the summer, and starting to gather, boost our immunity and prepare for the cooler months ahead.
With a New Moon on February 28, we will also be practicing in the supportive energy of the second new moon of the year, integrating and sustaining our visions for the year ahead.
Your retreat day will include yoga techniques and practices with Donna and Phoebe, reflective activities to glean wisdom and inform what you would like to work on within yourself over the coming season. There will also be contemplative and restful practice to support the integration of the practices.
Vegetarian, seasonal food will be provided by Sunny Peach Kitchen. Any dietary requirements will be taken into account in the booking process.
SUNDAY MARCH 2

North Fremantle Community Hall, 2 Thompson Rd North Fremantle

Yoga, Ayurveda and the Seasons
Nature doesn’t run on a calendar, it’s a complex balance of interconnection of elements, that change when the conditions allow for it. Nature moves in cycles, larger cycles that see us through the full rotation of seasons, then the smaller cycles within, that might be marked within a season or simply the movement through day and night. Similar to Indigenous Australian seasons, ayurveda recognises six seasons within the earths journey around the sun, and offers ways to navigate the changes in the environment to facilitate growth and optimal health within our own personal environment.
About Your Facilitators:
Phoebe is a yoga educator with 14 years of experience, currently based in the Walyalup/Fremantle. She has studied with many luminaries over time, following pathways of classical Hatha yoga, creative and intuitive vinyasa, Sri Vidya Tantra, the work of Vanda Scaravelli, all intertwined with the science of Ayurveda. This depth in study has allowed for an ability to hold space for the more subtle elements of the practice, to become quieter so the student is able to listen and to tap into something much deeper within themselves. Phoebe believes yoga to be the key to attuning ourselves to our true nature, and our place within Great Nature.
Donna has been teaching and facilitating yoga classes, trainings and retreats for 13 years and her own practice of the 8 limbs spans for over 2 decades. With thousands of teaching hours under her belt, and years of training yoga teachers, Donna believes in yoga as an antidote for a fulfilling and invigorating life, using yoga to ground, re-center and to feel home in our bodies no matter who you are and what you do. Donna's yoga style is warm, inviting and connected. The way in which Donna teaches is the way she lives life - energetically, purposefully and joyfully.
